Kowhaiwhai Pattern

Today I was doing the Kowhaiwhai Template.  I made upside down waves and turned it to make a  wave. I changed the background to  orange and blue to represent summer. And this is the making of my art.

I liked this task but it was challenging thinking how to build it.

  1. Kia Ora Kahu,

My name is Zana and I am a blog commenter from the Summer Learning Journey.

I thought this activity was very interesting as it teaches you about Tānerore who you are able to see often on these hot summer days and about the infamous kowhaiwhai pattern seen throughout Māori culture. Could you share what you learnt about Tānerore?

Your Kowhaiwhai pattern is beautiful and I like the bright and bold background colors you choose as they really back the Kowhaiwhai stand out. I would like to know what app and tools you used to create you and what you think you could do to step it up and extend your pattern.

Keep up the great work and I hope to see more of your posts over the summer.

    Ngā mihi nui,
    Zana Yates
