Kupe and cook early New zealnd explorers

Kupe and cook are 2 important explorers in New zealand history. 

Kupe arrived in New Zealand in the 1100's. He travelld by traditional methods on a traditional sail boat. Myth has it he followed a giant octopus. He followed his voyage to find new land for his people to live. His wife named NZ Aotearoa afteer seeing mountains under the cloudes.

Captain Cook is a British explorer. Captain Cook arrived in New Zealand in 6 October 1769. Captain Cook came to New Zealand because to trade for gold. Captain Cook got to New Zealand in a big boat. 

Kupe is important because he was the first documented person in New Zealand. Cook is important because he mapped new Zealand and opened up to the world to access.
