Multiplication

Multiplication is a fast way of addding the same number many times. The two, five, and ten times tables are examples of multiplication.

The two times tabels are multipliying two by a number of groups. The five times tables are multipliying five by a number of groups. The ten times tables are multipliying ten by a number of groups.

The times tables are an easy way to remember basic multiplication equations The next times tables to learn are the three, four, and six times tabels.

Fact or Opinion

I did a task called fact or opinion.

First I listened to a story called the highway rat. This story is about the highway rat he steals travellers food and he stole this ducks cupcake. So she tricked him and made him think she has a sister with a lot of junk food in the top of a cave.

Then we chose if we were doing the duck or the horse for fact or opinion. A fact is information that is real, an opinion is something that is true in your own words.

We had to write the opinion of why the character acted that way.

Finally we wrote 5 adjectives to describe the traits.

I liked using adjectives but it took me a while to figure out what they meant or how to use them properly.

Multiplication

This week I did multiplication. Multiplication is a faster way to add the same number many times

First my group and I counted  a big amount of counters of unknown amounts.

Next my group and I counted them in 10 then we split that big group into small groups of 10.

I used multiplication to find out the unknown amount which is, 70 as 7 groups of 10 equals 70.

I liked this activity because it helped me learn what multiplication is.

Americas cup 2021

This week I learnt about the Americas cup.

First, my group and I wrote a few main facts on who, what, when, where, and why about the Americas cup. Main

Next, we did summarising. We wrote down 20 important words, then we chose 6 important words on that list. Then we turned the 6 words into a sentence.

Lastly we evaluated the information by answering 3 questions.

I like using evaluating and summarising because it helped me learn a few facts about the Americas cup the most useful strategies was summarising.

The Highway Rat

Visualisation is creating pictures in your head. This helps understand what we read.

Highway Rat is about a Rat who is greedy and steals everyone food. He learns his lesson and everyone lives happily.

My visualisation is different to others because the Rat teeth is sharp he wears no shoes he has sharp toenails.

We have different visualisation because we all imagined it as our own picture.

AFL training

Group B went to the field with coach Andre to start AFL.

First we learnt how to drop kick to do this skill keep the lace away from your face and drop the ball and kick the bottom.

After kicking the ball we did the skill handball  to do this hold the ball in your non dominant hand and yous your dominant hand to hit the ball in the air.

Then we learnt how to tackle but we did it on our knees so know one gets hurt to do this you rap your arms around them like a bear hug and slowly push them to the ground. A tip off is when a ref throws the ball in the air and you have to try be the first to hit the ball down.

I need to work on my aim for kicking because when ever I kick the ball it goes left instead of straight.

Reading large numbers

Place value is a system that groups numbers based on their size.

The position of a digit determines it's value. When we say numbers we group them within the same house. For example 15709 has fifteen thousands, seven hundreds, and nine ones.

Understanding our base 10 place value system allows us to pronounce big numbers properly. It also allows us to identify numbers before and after.
