 I read a book about tresuared times.

The books called Toitoi it contains many storied from young kids with imaginary stories. The story I read about was A little kid and his grandpa go fishing go fishing as the orange and red rays of the sun rising.  The sea had flashes of molten gold. Emerging from the comfort of sleep to the sound of gulls to their morning conversations.

I like this book becausxe it contains many stories and I learnt new words.

Basic Facts Boxes

 This week I did basic facts boxes multiplication.

I got all answers correct , I finished under 3 minutes ans 27 seconds but I think I can do better. It was easy because multiplication is like adding.

I like my times tables because it helps me learn them and i'd like to get a faster time.

 I read a book by Carley Anna West.

Its a really cool story about a boy and a mum and dad moving houses near a mean neighbour and the buy goes to look around the neibours house the neighbour sets up traps and looks around his house to try find the boy.

I like this book because I learnt new words.

 This week I did addition on basic facts boxes.

I got all answers correct , I finished under 2 minutes ans 34 seconds but I think I can do better. It was easy because I know how to add up to addtion

I like my times tables because it helps me learn them and i'd like to get a faster time.

Problem Solving

This morning Ls1 did problem solving. We were split into four different groups and had to solve a problem using place value, rounding and compensating and written algorithm.

The problem we solved was: A farm received a total of 119 millimetres of rain over a 2 month period. If 48 millimetres of rain fell on the farm in June, how many millimetres of rain fell on the farm in month 2?

First we higligted the important words or numbers which is 119, and 48.

First we used place value to solve the problem. first we start with the ones:

119 - 48 = ? Ones which is - 9 - 8 = 1

Tens which is - 10 - 40 is not possible so we have to add the 1 hundred to the ten, 110 - 40 = 70.

Last step is to put the answers togather so we can figure put the problem. 70 + 1 = 71, which means 71 millimetres of rain waterd the farm.

I think it was hard because I don't understand the written algorithm.

 I read a book by Carly Anne West

In the beginning of the book Nicholas and his mum buy  new house which the color of it is turquoise. His mum said maybe we should change the color to teal she said. It use to be a very popular color.

I liked reading the Hello neighbour book because I learnt new words.

Typing

 I did a can-do activity called dance dancing mat. 

First I went on dancing typing mat and set up a 15 minute timer.

Next I put my finger on the home row keys.

Lastly I took a screen shot of my results and put it on a google slide and write what I needed to improve on.

I need to improve by pressing the spacebar because I don't press it.

Poetry

 I completed a task called Poetry. For this task I had to look around my house and turn them into poems.

Next we had to think of a verb that is four letters long I thought of tell.

After I went to go find the items around my house I found a red Apple, yellow Banana with a bit of rot on it, white Rice, and a blue bouncey ball. 

This task was hard because It was hard to make a poem out of the items I found.

Today I read 21 pages of captain underpants and the sensational saga of sir stinks-a-lot.

Teoti and Hērora write a comic book about them getting in trouble so they could set things straight. There principal is the meanest person on earth he dosn't like kids and he lives by himself in a creeppy old house.

I don't like reading fiction books because I never find new words to learn but this time I did.

 I read a book by Dav pilkey.

At night after seeing Melvins invention George and harold hijack all the machines for the invention convention. After getting detention George and Harold make a comic and through it in Melvins invention and it makes all their comic monsters come to life but captain underpants saves the day.

I don't like reading fiction books because I don't really find new words to learn.

Lastly I took a screen shot of my results and put it on a google slide and write what I needed to improve on.

I need to improve by putting my hands on the homerow keys.

 This week I did Division and multiplication on basic facts boxes.

I got all answers correct , I finished under wha meneti and whitu hēkona but I think I can do better. It was hard because I had to quickly count on my fingers while doing division.

I like my times tables because it helps me learn them and i'd like to get a faster time.

Tongan Language week

 This week I did a Tongan Language week task.

We go to choose to do counting from 1 - 10 in Tongan, Greetings in Tongan, Maths.

I chose do to counting, I made a slideshow of fingers going up to 10 showing the Tongan words.

This task was hard because I don't know how to count in Tongan.

 I read a book from Dav Pilkey.

Its about  these kids turning their priincipal into captain underpants some of the story line is ‘Hahaha” laughed Mr Krupp. Do you honestly think i’d let yous in to this year invention contest after the stunt you pulled last year.

I like reading fiction books but It's hard looking for new words.

Problem solving

 Today we used place value to solve an equation. 

First we started with the ones by adding them togather 4 + 6 + 7=10. Then we add them togather 10+7=17.

Next we added the tens togather wich is 20 + 20 + 10=50. Next we added the tens and ones togather which is 50+17=67.

Now we know she practised for 67 minutes. So then we subtracted 67 from 90. 0-7 is not possible so we did 10-7=3. 

Lastly we did 80-60=20 then we added that togather which is 23 so Leilani needs to practise for another 23 mins.

I didn't know what to do so I waited to see what other people examples are so I could think of one.

Comment thread

I completed a task called comment thread. Comment thread is a task where you or someone else creates a coversation on your blog or there blog.

For comment thred one of my teachers commented on my Madlibs blog. You should always start with a greeting like Kia ora or Maloleli. Then you say a question abouth thier work like who came up with this.

I got 100 out of 100 answers correct , I finished under 3 minustes and 29 seconds but I think I can do better.  Next time I do basic facts boxes I will attempt to do addition up to 100.

I like my times tables because it helps me learn them so I will know them straight away.

 I read a fiction book by Kazu Kibuishi.

In Amulet Emily  and her dad when camping Emily and her dad starts climbing a cliff. At the top of the cliff emily up there waiting for her dad and hurrys him to get up there and have a look at the amazing view. Then Emily wakes up from her dream and goes to see her friends they all meet in the boat that they are sailing on.

I like reading fiction books but I don't really learn new words.

Madlibs

My group and I did an activity called Madlibs. We wrote down: a boy's name, a girls name, a place, a car brand, a number, a colour, a number between 8 and 13, a day of the week, and a type of fabric. 

First we write down a boy or girls name, the boys name was Joe and the grirl name was Lucy.

Next we wrote down a place and a colour, the place was KFC and the colour was blue.

Then we wrote down any number and a number between 8 - 13, the number was 15 and the number between 8 - 13 was 12.

To finish of we wroted down a day of the week and a type of fabric, our fabric was cotton and the day of the week was Monday.
