We did a bus stop activity and we made up some words that go with these titles. Then we created a mind map about S.T.E.A.M on Lucid chart.

I really like lions, because they are my favourite animal like a Tiger.
Lions love eating animals with meat inside of them because
it’s a food they like. Lions have a huge jaw for eating. Lions are fast at
hunting, because they can run fast. Lions have sharp claws to kill an animal.
Lion's claws are dangerous because they are really sharp and pointy. Lions
live in large groups called prides because it’s like a family that they live in with
other Lions. tLions come from Africa nearly all wild Lions live in Africa. Lions
have sharp teeth like a cheetah but a Lions teeth are sharper at the back for
hunting. Today we did a paragraph about our favourite animal I wrote about a cheetah. We had to make fact about the animal that we love so much.

Apollo 11

At 9:32, July 16 1969 Apollo 11 is a rocket ship that launched to the moon.
When Apollo 11 landed on the moon, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong
were walking on the moon for three hours while Micheal Collins was in the
Apollo 11.Buzz Aldrin,Neil Armstrong,Michal Collins made it safely back to Earth.

Zoo Recount

Zoo Recount  

It was a cold, grey, cloudy day at the Zoo. When
Room 5 arrived at the Zoo, we were in groups of 6. 

My group followed Ms May to the red Pandas we
saw the red pandas up in the tree. Then we went to
see the spider monkeys they were jumping from
branch to branch. After we saw the Spider Monkey
we went to see the Apes. One of the Apes was asleep.
The other Ape was jumping on the ropes.

Then it was time to meet up with Hohepa he
showed us around Africa. First we saw the
Baboons we couldn’t see the Baboons because
it was hiding behind a huge rock. Then the
Baboons came out. They had a pinkish red butt.
After we went to go and see the Cheetah one of
the Cheater were asleep. And one was looking at
a Cheetah skin we got to feel. Cheetah’s claws can't
retract.

Than we went to go and see the Elephant’s
Hohepa told us the 2 Elephant’s names their
names are Burma and Anjali. Burma and Anjali were
chucking bark on them because it’s like  sunscreen to
protect them from the sun then they came out and they
were humongous.  

Then we went to go and see the Flamingos the
Flamingos were light pink they had long and skinny
legs. After we saw the flamingos we went to see the
rhinos. There was only one rhino.

Then we saw the Seals the Seals were swimming
around like a shark. Finally we got to go and play
at the kidz zone I liked going down the slide. I liked
playing on the dragon. My favourite part was when I
went in the dragon. Then it was time to go back to
school, I was so tired from all that walking at the zoo.
When I am older I'm going back to the zoo because I l
iked the cool animal enclosure.

When we got back to school we did work about native
animals and external animals not all of us finished
doing the work about the native animals and external
animals and then it was time to go home. 

Space Art

I drew a picture of a moon and I also drew different tips of circle in the moon. Then I shaded the little circle using my fingers. When my moon was done I used dye to colour the coffee fitters, I used hot and cold colours. Then I used big, small and medium circles to cut out circles from the coffee fitters. When all of that was done my teacher cut out a black covered paper and then we splashed white paint all over the black covered paper to make stars. Then we glued all of the circles and the moon on the black cardboard paper.

Today we made a space shuttle and labeled it on a google drawing.

Matariki

Last week we celebrated Matariki. We had a sausage sizzle. We were allowed to have 2 sausages. Mr Johnston cooked the sausages. When lunch finished we went to the hall to see junior Kapa Haka perform. The junior kapa haka was good. Next was the senior Kapa Haka. They were amazing. After the Pacifica group performed the Ukulele group was playing. We watched a video about Matariki and the 7 stars.

   

Read Theory July

Last time my result was grade 4, this time my best result is grade five. I'm happy I've got a better result.

Trial and Error

Today for maths we did an activity using Trial and Error. It was easy to work out the first one the first one was 9x3=27 than we did 9+8= because we were trying to get the numbers to match but we were 10 off.  The next problem was 7x3=21 then we did 7=8=15 but we were 6 off. Then we were on to the last question 4x3=12  and then we did + for 4+8=12 so the last one was correct.
